Importer Security Filing Post-Departure ISF Amendment

The Importer Security Filing (ISF) Post-Departure ISF Amendment refers to the process of making changes or corrections to an ISF filing after the departure of the vessel from the foreign port of origin but before it arrives at a U.S. port. The ISF is a mandatory filing that importers are required to submit to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at least 24 hours before the cargo is loaded onto the vessel that will transport it to the United States. However, there are circumstances in which changes or updates to the ISF may be necessary even after the vessel has departed.
