Importer Security Filing Remote Filing Location
Importer Security Filing (ISF) Remote Filing Location refers to a specific facility or location where certain ISF data can be filed or transmitted to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for cargo shipments. Under ISF regulations, importers and their authorized agents, such as customs brokers or freight forwarders, are required to submit specific data elements to CBP electronically before the cargo is loaded onto an ocean vessel bound for the United States. The submission of ISF data can occur at different locations, including the use of Remote Filing Locations (RFLs).
